Michael Huson cites Rob Vogt in the article Columbus library warns tenants of likely sale of Downtown apartments

In the article, Mr. Huson reports that the Grant Oak Apartments will likely be sold or redeveloped as early as fourth quarter of 2016 or early 2017. The Columbus Library owns Grant Oak Apartments, which is an affordable community north of the Columbus Main library. Affordable apartment communities are decreasing in Downtown Columbus. According to Rob Vogt, the high cost of development often is detrimental to affordable housing although there is high demand for the product.

"The biggest problem today is the fact that we don't have a lot of affordable choices Downtown anymore," Vogt said. "The cost of land, and the cost of materials, and the cost of development, dictate that all the properties coming online or the recently developed properties are on the high end."
